Antitrust and Shareholder Litigation

Morganti & Co. is seeking a junior partners to take internal management of several class actions representing investors and victims of investment frauds and misrepresentations. The candidate will take first or second chair roles in corresponding with opposing counsel, the court, examinations/depositions, and court arguments/submissions.
The ideal candidate will have 8 years of corporate litigation experience. Exposure to prior antitrust or shareholder litigation is required. This experience preferably will have been gained at a nationally recognized law firm in Ontario or Quebec. Preference is also given to those with experience at the provincial and federal regulators. Candidates must possess excellent analytical and writing skills, solid understanding of the Canadian Competition Act or the provincial Securities Acts and class action litigation, the rules of civil procedure and class procedures, demonstrated leadership and initiative skills, and be comfortable independently and with colleagues. Candidates should also have strong references and proven record of success in the courtroom. Candidates are not required to have a book of business.
The compensation package includes a respectable base salary with objectively measured bonuses based upon the success of the files that are assigned to the lawyer.
