Manjit began his legal career in litigation practicing in Toronto, Ontario before relocating to and continuing his litigation practice in San Francisco, California. After a few years practicing litigation in the United States, Manjit was recruited back to Canada by one of Toronto’s pre-eminent litigation firms where he focused his practice primarily on cross-border commercial litigation and enforcement of foreign judgments and orders in Canada.
Manjit has appeared on behalf of clients at the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario), the Court of Appeal (Ontario) and the Federal Court of Canada. He has won trials at the Superior Court of Justice (Ontario), has won appeals at both the Court of Appeal (Ontario) and the Federal Court of Canada, and has consulted on matters before the Supreme Court of Canada.
Manjit represents investors of privately-held and public companies, including in cross-border disputes, involving claims relating to oppression remedies, derivative suits, misrepresentations under Canadian provincial Securities Acts, and the U.S. Private Securities Litigation Reform Act as well as California Blue-Sky laws.
