Patrick went to law school at the University of Birmingham in England. He satisfied the requirements of the National Committee on Accreditation to be eligible for practice in Canada, and undertook the Law Practice Program (LPP) to obtain his licence. As part of the LPP, he completed a work placement in-house with the Laurentian Bank of Canada in the commercial real estate department with the documentation and securities team and spent some time in the commercial banking and lending department.

Patrick completed a masters in International Business Law at Osgoode Hall Law School where his studies focused on a mix of international topics including taxation, trade, and finance. During his graduate studies, he authored “Forecasting the Effect of BEPS Actions on Finance Transaction Structuring Concerns”, a paper providing an overview of the OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) incentives’ effect on international finance transaction structuring.

Patrick holds honours degrees in English Literature from the University of Toronto and Political Science from York University and is fluent in French.
